Our rating system for surf is based on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being the worst score and 10 being the best.
  1. Forget about it! Surf Sucks
  2. You might be able to catch a ride if you are really desperate
  3. If you go out, you might catch a few waves
  4. Not a performance day, but there a sections that are “makeable” for a second or two
  5. Worth the effort but you have to be selective where you go out
  1. “Makeable” sections, good for both long boarders and short boarders
  2. Performance surf, top to bottom sections
  3. Classic Outer Banks Great Surf
  4. Skip going to work or school, it’s worth getting in trouble!
